We recently closed our seed round and are on track to raise Series A in late 2025. With ~30 employees and ambitious growth plans, we’re building a lean, high-performing team and a category-defining product in the influencer marketing space.
Why This Role Matters
We’re looking for a hands-on HR generalist who can build structure from scratch. Right now, our interim COO is juggling HR alongside other responsibilities — and it’s time to bring in a dedicated professional to own and elevate the function.
This is a foundational role where you’ll establish critical HR infrastructure across onboarding/offboarding, compliance, policies, documentation, and performance systems. You’ll also partner with our PEO (Justworks) to ensure smooth execution across the full employee lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
🔹 HR Operations & Compliance
Own day-to-day HR tasks: onboarding, offboarding, documentation, file organization, and SOPs.
Partner with our PEO on employee lifecycle, benefits, leave, and compliance.
Manage policies around termination, pay practices, and risk mitigation across multiple US states.
🔹 Infrastructure Building
Set up and maintain internal HR documentation, templates, handbooks, and compliance files.
Establish systems for policy acknowledgements, performance reviews, and training tracking.
Bring clarity and order to a currently scattered HR landscape.
🔹 Strategic People Support
Advise leadership on light compensation benchmarking, legal compliance, and benefits strategy.
Design and implement a performance management framework that can scale with the business.
Proactively flag gaps, reduce legal risk, and help shape a healthy culture through structured processes.
What We’re Looking For
✅ 5–7 years of HR experience in startups or high-growth environments
✅ Proven ability to build HR systems from scratch — this is a solo role, not a team lead role (yet)
✅ Strong execution skills: self-directed, hands-on, emotionally intelligent
✅ Familiarity with US labor law, multi-state compliance, and PEO platforms (Justworks preferred)
✅ Comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving environment where documentation and clarity matter
✅ SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
✅ Available to work overlapping with East Coast (ET) hours
