Role Overview

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in motivating and aligning a team of software engineers in a fast-paced startup environment. You’ll work cross-functionally to execute an outcome-based product strategy that drives key business results.

In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, AWS, and PostgreSQL to develop core product features and contribute to engineering best practices. Additionally, we are prioritizing experience in Machine Learning, as we plan to integrate data-driven systems that analyze multiple inputs, identify patterns, and improve over time. While not a strict requirement, hands-on experience with building machine learning models would be highly valued, as we seek someone who can help shape our approach to leveraging ML in future projects.

We’re looking for a thoughtful engineer who thrives in a small, product-focused team, enjoys contributing to process improvements, and takes ownership of impactful engineering decisions. You will help define team values, reinforce Statusphere’s Core Values, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

You Will:

• Lead the entire product development lifecycle, from design to deployment and maintenance of new and existing features.
• Leverage Machine Learning expertise to design and implement systems that process multiple inputs, identify commonalities, and improve over time.
• Ship incremental improvements at least once per week using continuous delivery.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure high standards in architecture, performance, security, and consistent coding patterns.
• Follow and improve upon Statusphere’s engineering guidelines, coding standards, and delivery processes.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and priorities in team review meetings.
• Ask clarifying questions about business impact, explore options, and propose creative solutions to complex problems.
• Assist in training and onboarding new team members.
• Foster a collaborative, open environment where engineers feel empowered to contribute ideas.
• Align and motivate the team to execute on technical strategy and vision while meeting deadlines.
• Contribute to and execute the engineering technical roadmap.
• Provide regular updates to the Senior Engineering Manager on milestones, risks, blockers, and proposed solutions.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in a startup environment or equivalent.
• Strong expertise in:
  • Node.js, React, Express, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
  • Building scalable fullstack applications with a product-first approach.
• Machine Learning:
  • Hands-on experience building ML models and designing data-driven systems.
  • Ability to create systems that process multiple inputs, identify patterns, and improve over time.
• Experience designing greenfield systems and leading complex projects.
• Ability to select and implement tools that set the engineering team up for success.
• Proven ability to mentor and motivate engineers to exceed business goals.
• Strong skills in time management, prioritization, and independent execution.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
• Passion for consumer marketing and understanding its relationship to software development.
