A-Players is a talent and management company that has grown to $1M+ ARR over 7+ years, bootstrapped. We place high-performing Business Associates (BAs) directly with early-stage US tech startups — embedded with founders and C-level executives as their main communication and operations layer.
We hire, train, and manage BAs ourselves, and we stay accountable for performance after placement.
The Role
You'll work full-time embedded with a US startup — directly with a founder or head of function. A-Players is your employer; the startup is where you operate. The exact shape of the role depends on the placement: some BAs focus on customer success and account management, others on BD support and outreach, others on executive operations and stakeholder communication. What's consistent across all placements is that you're the person external stakeholders actually hear from — and you're accountable for what happens next.
What You'll Do
Own external communication on behalf of the founder or head of function — with clients, partners, and prospects. That means drafting outreach, follow-ups, and proposals in their voice; running check-ins; and making sure nothing slips between conversations.
Track deal and relationship health in the CRM. Flag what's going cold, what needs attention, and what looks like an expansion signal — with a clear recommendation, not just an alert.
Support business development work — prospect research, outreach sequencing, and lead qualification. Keep the pipeline moving and the founder informed on what's worth their time.
Build the materials that move things forward: onboarding docs, one-pagers, decks, status reports. Coordinate meetings and introductions end-to-end, from agenda to follow-through.
Take full ownership of your workstreams. Clean documentation, proactive updates, no follow-up required — not because you were reminded, but because you built the habit.
Use AI tools to move faster on research, drafting, and recurring workflows — and build deeper fluency through our training.
What We're Looking For
Strong written and verbal English (C1+); comfortable representing someone else's voice, not just your own.
1–3 years of experience in a client-facing role — customer success, account management, sales support, agency, or similar.
Commercial awareness: understands how early-stage startups operate and connects relationship work to revenue outcomes.
Organized and reliable across multiple workstreams; clean documentation, no follow-up required.
Familiar with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) and ready to develop deeper skills through our training.
Tools: CRM (HubSpot/Salesforce); design (Canva/Figma); outreach tools (Apollo); automation (n8n); Google Suite as daily environment.
Hours
Full-time. Full overlap with US Eastern Time: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET.
A-Players Startup Training
Before your first placement, every BA completes a 2-week training program. It's structured around real startup tasks — no theory for its own sake. The first part runs you through the full range of work a BA handles on the ground: client communication, research, operations, and outreach. The second part is our AI Intensive — a practical, leveled track that builds the prompting, workflow, and automation skills you'll use from day one with a client. Both programs are assignment-based with direct feedback from a Team Lead. The goal is to make sure you're genuinely ready, not just formally onboarded.
